Laura Grafe, PhD (she/her)

(B.S. University of Maryland, 2008; Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania, 2014; Postdoctoral Fellowship: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 2018) I am a behavioral neuroscientist. My research program focuses on how stress affects the brain. I use both rodent and human models to study the neurobiological response to stress, and how this may lead to behavioral phenotypes relevant to mental health such as cognitive impairment, sleep deficits, and changes in appetite. I am particularly interested in individual differences in the response to stress. I use a range of techniques to uncover the behavioral, endocrine, and molecular mechanisms involved in stress vulnerability.
